MITI NEWS: New Healthy Eating Program We work hard to bring new programs to our children everyday. Starting on May 6th, 2009 we will be introducing a new workshop entitled “Eat Right, Think Right”. This will focus on getting your kids to start thinking healthy with their food choices.

Before & After School Care

Since school-age children spend a large amount of time in a structured setting, MITI Kids provides a flexible schedule with plenty of time for free choice. However, there still needs to be routines.

Before School:
6:00 a.m. - 6:30 a.m. Parents and caregiver exchange information; Children choose
quiet activities and prepare for breakfast (hand washing)
6:30 a.m. - 7:00 a.m. Breakfast
7:00 a.m. – 7:15 a.m. Clean-up/Wash Hands/Sign-out for school
After School:

3:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. Arrival, sign-in, put belongings away, hand washing
3:15 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Snack/hand-washing
3:30 p.m.- 3:45 p.m. Group meeting: discuss plan for the day, announcements, directions, share news, ask group for new ideas for projects and/or games
3:45 p.m.– 4:30 p.m.

Prepares for home. Caregiver share details regarding child's day to parents. Daily notes are gathered to give to parents, along with any comments about the day.
